Starting a 'Kindergarden Clan'

Hi Everyone,

As I was getting bored with waiting for my upgrades to complete, I have started a 2[sup]nd[/sup] clan. I am at low level (lvl22; upgrading to TH5). I started to look for a clan and I had a bitter experience as quality clans don’t normally take such low level players and those who do are not very good. As I was searching around, I noticed that there are many players in this situation on the global chat.

So, I have decided to start a clan for low level players. The planned rules are the following (your suggestions are welcome):
1)   *  entry will not depend on age or level, instead maturity, effort and dedication will be required;
2)   *  the main purpose will be not to win wars, but to teach members to the basics of the game (an effort will still be expected);
3)   *  wars will be 1-2X during mid-week to avoid clashes with v2’s weekend war;
4)   *  every member must discuss his/her strategy with a lead or elder before attacking.

I am writing to
i)     inform stricken members that such clan will be formed, so that if anyone has a low level 2[sup]nd[/sup] (or 3[sup]rd[/sup]) account that is not good enough for v2 could join (three v2 members already expressed interest and I am counting on their help);
ii)    solicit ideas about potential improvements;
iii)  ask Jak and Jody whether we could like this clan officially to stricken.

If allowed, I would propose to call the clan ‘Stricken Kids v3’. If not, then we could call it ‘Our Kindergarden’. If linked to stricken, we could use v3 to allow those v2 members to war during the week, who has not made the cut for the war squad.

I would like to start soon, preferably next week.

Please let me know what do you think,

Completely up to you Raj, Just know, as like with v2, I'll offer an web support here, but have my hands full with Stricken. As far as associating it with us, that's perfectly fine by me. I think the name Kindergarten, or Kids, will not go over well. As you will be sending the wrong message. Just my thoughts.

Thanks for your support, Anajak. Got your point in the name, we'll find a better one.
I hop that the new clan will eventually contribute a few players for the two higher level stricken clans.

I agree with Anajak the name strucken kids or something like that will be misunderstood but i totally support this idea.

As long as someone is game to manage the clan I don't think it's a bad idea at all. The more newbies we can train to be mature the better. I would think Stricken v3.0 would be a good name, hopefully to instill a sense of want to gain enough skill to join the larger, more experienced Stricken v2.0 and Stricken.

Would it be a good idea to think this over as well though, not trying to come off any type of way, however; Stricken v2.0 is already for lower leveled players, the beginning of the game is just people trying to get use to everything and understanding and if they join a clan it's to get troops, and learn more of the game, I just feel like it'd be difficult... I just don't want you to go through and it not succeed like I think it'd be good to think of the pros and cons and think which weighs out more the pros or the cons

How about StrickenDOJO or StrickenU (for Univiersity and a play on "stricken you" ) I kinda like the 2nd one for it's double meaning.

I like the idea if you are ok with a couple things. 1 would be high turnover. I would not expect people to stick around for long or just flat out stop playing the game. 2 would be your patients with low level players. Some people take longer to learn things then others while some just don't want to learn all together and do what they want.

Great idea. I would love to hear some updates on how it is going if you decide to go through with it.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your feedback. The new clan (Stricken v3; tag: #2R8LUJ2J) is now up. Please direct low level players (<lvl30) to us.

Needless to say, those who have alt accounts at that level, are all welcome.

Hello everyone. I joined Stricken v3 a couple days a go, as I am a new player and was exactly looking for that kind of clan. Found that site in the v2 description and thought I'd be a good idea to visit it. Then decided to subscribe to introduce myself to the other members of the Stricken community, as the only one i met so far is Raj (great instructor by the way). Cheers

Hi everyone,

A short status report from v3: we are up and running. We got two recruits, mark (whom you met) and kaspargee (kas), they are both learning fast. I have put up two ads onto the CoC forum and have been bumping them daily.

Jak, I have seen your message and added the stricken website to our front page.

I have two requests:
1) Please do not reject low level (<40) players straight away, take them in for a few mins and try to persuade them to join v3, if possible.
2) v3 is now advertising the two sister clans on its front page with tag numbers. I'd like to propose that the other two should do the same to inccrease our chances to recruit good players.

Looking fwd,
Best: Raj

Sure, i'd love to add that to our clan message, however, might not be able to fit the clan tag i'll try though. Also link your forum post! that way i can link it in our recruitment post!

About accepting under 40 members and redirecting them, we have had VERY little success with that (stricken to v2.0) most dont care, or want to move, and when u kick them its like they get insulted,. cause they wont leave on their own 95% of the time.

Hi Everyone,

I am happy to report that v3 has grown nicely during the week (thx for the ads and bumps, Jak). We now have 13 (!!) members and will be able to start wars,once all members have a decent base and learned three types of advanced attacks (like GiWi),

We managed to recruit the alt of two experienced players (mains - lvl 75 and 92), whereas the rest are enthusiastic, determined low level players. Teaching is on full steam and they are learning fast. I expect us to start wars next week or so.

Haley is my co-lead and she does an excellent job with the kids. I value her contribution and dedication very highly.

Thx for your support,

Hi Everyone,
v3 now has 21 members. Most of them are very low lvl players (typically <lvl35), but we have the alts of several experienced players, among them Andre (v1), Mark (v2) and Arg (from outside).

During the last couple of days JC, an outgoing veteran of v2, who is about to leave us, held the first master class on barching and ground attacks. It was a tremendous success, JC worked hard for over 24 hours: demonstrated, explained and corrected tirelessly. This was his parting gift to the Stricken family and what a valuable one. A classy way to leave, we are really grateful to him.

Our next visiting professor will be Darkball with his alt sometimes next week between two v2 wars. He'll teach our members for the essential details of loon attacks. A lot of members expressed their excitement about his coming.

This coming weekend we are planning to have our first clan war. We still need to finalise the details with Haley, but the members are very eager, so we might give it a try.

Thanks for all your supports and encouragements: Raj
